The Southland Team

Vince Reina, Owner and Master Instructor

Vince had early ambitions to be a professional dog instructor. He attended Mandelyn Kennel’s Master Trainers Course in Bakersfield, California. While training in California, Vince had the opportunity to work with trainers from all over the world that were ex-military and police.

With all the knowledge he acquired at Mandelyns, Vince established Southland Dog Training in 1986 at the young age of 23. Vince has been a hands on instructor for Southland the past 20 years, and couldn’t imagine having any other profession.

Dog Training in Trinity, New Tampa and all Pasco CountyFarrah Adams, Instructor

Farrah is a graduate of Triple Crown Academy and a Certified Training and Behavior Specialist. During college she trained racehorses and competed in equestrian events. Her desire to help people understand their dogs and share with them how to create a relationship led her to work with Southland Dog Training. "Southland most closely fit my method of training.  In the earlier years of dog training I always had dogs who wanted to work for their paycheck (treat) and not necessarily for me.  Once I figured out and was educated on how to create that bond that makes my dogs want to work for me I got much better behaved dogs. I think that Southland reflects the same philosophy of creating an owner a dog wants to work for.. and a dog that reflects what the owner envisions." Farrah lives in Lutz wuth her dogs ChiRho, Happy and Remi. Serving Pasco and Hernado Counties

Casey Roman, Instructor

CaseyCasey graduated from National K-9 Dog Training School July of 1998. “Dog Training is my career of choice because of my love for helping people as well as man’s best friend. I chose to work for Southland Dog Training because of my philosophy of dog training goes hand in hand with their philosophy of dog training”.

Before my career as a dog trainer she earned an Associates Degree of Science from Columbus State Community College in Veterinary Technology. I served as the Obedience Chair for Central Ohio Kennel Club.

She has three Vizslas named Dolly (4-years-old), Wilsie (20-months-old) and Gentry (7-months-old). "Dolly is my best success story to date. She is a Canine Good Citizen. She had to complete a number of tasks interacting with me and other people to earn this special certification such as being able to walk through a crowded room under control. Dolly received her Campion Dog (CD) title with a 2nd, 3rd and 4th place."

Casey says "Dogs respond well to balanced praise and correction training. A person can be taught to be a pack leader in their relationship with the dog without being a bully. The dog becomes a better and confident pet with the right tools."
