Program Elements

Southland Dog training understands that your dog and your situation are different from anybody elses so our programs are structured by elements. This way you get what "You" want out of a program by adding or customizing our basic program to fit your needs or desires.

Everything centers around our basic program for older puppies and dogs under 6 months or our puppy kindergarten program for puppies up to 6 months. The basic program includes:

Housebreaking-We will teach your puppy or dog not to go to the bathroom inside the house *Not Sold Seperatley

Problem solving-Jumping, Chewing, Digging, Barking, Biteing, Dog or people Aggression. Any type of behavior problem you are having with your dog, we will deal with.

Basic Obedience-Attention (Pay attention to you not to things in the environment), Heel (walking on a leash), Down (Lay down when told), Sit (When told and automaticly when you stop), Stay (Sit stay 3 to 5 minutes Down Stay 10 to 15 minutes), Come when called, No (Stop what your doing)

This is just a startining point. From these basics you can add any of our elements to your program. These elements include

All of this starts with an IN-HOME EVALUATION

Before we accept a dog for training, we do an in-home evaluation to assess what programs elements are best suited for you and your pet. The evaluation runs approximately an hour, costs $50 (Protection evaluation runs $75) and is done in the home environment of the dog and owner. If a program is purchased the day of the evaluation, the evaluation fee is included. When the evaluation is complete, we will give you a fixed-cost for a program, and explain what your involvement will be as well as ours. We are equipped to enroll you in a program immediately. Evaluations can be scheduled Monday through Friday mornings afternoons or evenings.
